Two Romanian fly-tippers who were caught after hero farmers blocked them in their vans have been ordered to pay more than £2,000.
Ionut Bancunlea, 33, and Adrian Bivolaru, 34, found themselves boxed in after they dumped tonnes of rubbish on a country lane near Meriden in the West Midlands.
Quick-thinking farmers used their cars to barricade the two white vans, after furious passers-by spotted the two men throwing black bin bags and pipes onto the road in the Packington Estate.
Warwickshire Police were then called and arrested the pair for what was described as 'some of the worst fly-tipping [the force] had seen in a long time'.
The drama comes 12 years after residents tried to stop an illegal traveller site by camping on the road for more than 600 days.

He was slapped with a 12-month community order and ordered to do 150 hours unpaid work and 10 days of rehabilitation activities.

The court heard Bancunlea and Bivolaru had been dumping building site waste from their vans near a farm when the landowners blocked them in.
Officers arrived and ordered the pair to put the waste back in their vans before arresting them.
Investigations linked them to four fly-tipping offences in nearby Solihull and Meriden between June 23 last year and February 7.

Sergeant Matt Simms, of the Rural Crime Team, said 'Dropping waste at the side of the road ruins our beautiful countryside and wastes precious resources from our local councils that could be better invested elsewhere to clean it up.
'It also stops businesses like farms from being able to operate while the owners deal with the mess, often leaving them out of pocket as well.
'We are very happy that the OPU (Operational Patrol Unit) were quick to assist landowners and able to catch them in the act on this occasion, and we share in the satisfaction that Banunclea and Bivolaru were made to clean up at least one of their messes.'
